The pool at Stonebridge Ranch Beach & Tennis Club allows residents to enjoy a spacious blue lagoon surrounded by a beautiful sand beach. Shade trees cover picnic areas and children build sand castles along the beach surrounding the pool. Some Stonebridge Ranch residents are frustrated because, only 4 weeks into pool season, the Stonebridge Ranch Beach pool has closed early on 4 occasions. Regular hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. but on 4 occasions, the Beach Club has had to close as early as 4:30 in the afternoon. According to pool manager, Sean Ambrose, of DKG Management Inc.,"We have had to close early 4 times this year, but we are miles ahead ( less closures) of where we were the last couple of years. We have to close when the water gets so cloudy that the lifeguards can't see in the water." Ambrose said the management team and guards are working closely with the Stonebridge Home Owners Association to come up with solutions to the problem. Some possible solutions might be to eliminate free guest day or to limit the number of people that enter the Beach Club each day. Ambrose said the biggest problems occur during free guest day when there can be 700 or more people in the beach area. He explained that such a large crowd drags large amounts of the sand into the water, making it very difficult for the lifeguards to see the water clearly. This is a major safety issue for the club and for those who are in the pool. "The guards are sweeping the pool every hour on the hour and we have hired a cleaning contractor to come in 6 days a week in order to address the problem," Ambrose said.
