Downtown McKinney will turn back the clock and resemble a Victorian-style village from Friday through Sunday, when Santa Claus and carolers will greet guests at the 27th annual Dickens of a Christmas event.Dickens of a Christmas will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, and will feature activities for children and adults. Carolers from community organizations and local churches, who will be dressed in Victorian-style clothing, will sing Christmas songs to guests.The children’s activities include pony rides, which will cost about $5; the Dickens of a Train Ride, which will cost $1; and face painting, which will cost $5 to $15. Children may also write letters to Santa Claus at Dickens and at the North Texas History Center at 300 Virginia Street, one block east of the square. The Dallas Puppet Theater will have free puppet shows that will take place every hour beginning at noon on Friday and Saturday, and from 2 to 5 Sunday. Read More.....
