I you haven't seen Casino Royale yet, do so. The best Bond movie to come along in decades. Trying to grab a bite to eat at 6:30 on a Saturday night in McKinney was a challenge. Our first stop was Mama Emilia's Italian Restaurant in historic downtown McKinney. The place was busy, but there were still several tables open. We had to hunt down the host, and after a 5 minute wait we were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. The host replied that it would be 7:30 before a table was available. There was no mention that he might be able to work us in or wait a few minutes to see if any reservations would cancel. Although reservations may be required, there was no mention or courtesy, a simple "Do you have reservations?" This is McKinney , Texas.....not New York City!!! I dont think I will return, there are too many other good Italian restaurants that dont treat this you this way.
Next stop? Amatos Italian Restaurant, in the shopping center across from Adriatica. There was no wait, but save yourself the money. The food was good, but go to Brother's Pizza and get superior food at half the price.
Dessert? Next stop was Zin Zen Wine Bistro in Adriatica. It was about 8 by this time and the place was packed. There was no seating available for the two of us, so on we go. My suggestion to the owners of Zin Zen? Replace the "car washesque" gift shop area and replace it with 3 or 4 more tables, I am sure the revenue from the tables would yield much more them the greeting cards and other nick nacks.
Has this become a restaurant review blog? I assure you not, the progress in Adriatica has been at a snails pace, so I had to write about something.

We were in the same position last night. We end up eating at Scotty P’s and had Coffee at Coffee n Cream.in Downtown McKinney.
We saw a really cool place in Downtown called La Misha (I think) but did not go in.
Boy, there are tons of potential at Downtown McKinney.
