After a full weekend of rain and what was to be "the worst ice storm in 15 years" according to the news, it was the last 1/4 inch of ice that has caused problems. Driving from McKinney to Plano was not that bad, if you drove cautiously. My windshieled had accumulated abot a 1/4 inch of ice overnight, so I took my tabletop salt grinder out and put a coating on the window which seemed to help. Only in the Dallas/Fort Worth area does the city come to a complete standstill when it is 33 degrees and raining. My favorite quote from the news? A passenger at DFW Airport saying "I dont really want to fly, I just dont know if these planes can operate in these arctic temperatures...". Happy MLK Day, and get back to work...its not that bad out there!
