Farmer's Market coming to Adriatica?

At Chestnut Square in McKinney, executive director Cindy Johnson listened when the vendors asked about a second day for selling. But instead of simply adding a day at the historic square, she started talking with Jeff Blackard, who is developing Adriatica, the retail-residential complex on the west side of McKinney inspired by a Croatian seaside village.

"He was ecstatic," she says. "He wants the turnkey market." The goal for this second outpost of the McKinney Farmers Market, as with Four Seasons, is a year-round, European-style market. It will be held on Thursday afternoons and evenings and Sunday afternoons. There's no start date yet.

Are you kidding me? I realize Adriatica is chock full of imported construction materials, but we'll all be retired or dead by the time Blackard finishes this....The buzz within my neck of Stonebridge ranch is "we've given up waiting".
