"The Adriatica vote paved the way for the building of the harbor district, which will include a 128-foot bell tower. Plans for a 90-foot ship to be built in the harbor of Stonebridge Lake will be submitted separately to the planning and zoning commission and later to the city council. "

I'm glad that Mr. Blackard got the approval he needed for the belltower. I've been really impressed by what I've seen at Adriatica so far. Even during my trips to Starbucks, there always seems to be a new creative detail that I hadn't seen before.

I'm also glad that the project will move forward and that Mr. Blackard can continue with his creative vision -- I agree, the architecture and detail are very impressive. On the other hand, I do hope that we'll start to see more of this "uniqueness" displayed in Mr. Blackard's selection of tenants. So far, I'm not impressed with another Starbuck's or a UPS Store. We certainly didn't need another bank and there are as many veterinary clinics in McKinney as there are 7-11's in Los Angeles. The Kastle is beautiful but provides no entertainment value and Dr. Buchanan's office is just one more orthodontist for McKinney. I hate to sound negative but so far, I'm not impressed.

As "ag" said the architecture and details are very impressive in making Adriatica village unique and distinctive. Who is going to be the next tenant is up to what McKinney has to offer. Don't forget Adriatica is based on Croatian coast lifestyle. Maybe Blackard took the architecture from there but he can't bring the soul, it has to be within people.
